Columbus Zoo’s Military Free Dayz
As a way of saying thank you to those who served our country, all active and non-active members of the military can get themselves and their family into the Columbus Zoo for free. The Columbus Zoo’s Military Free Dayz runs from June 30th through July 8th.
Independence Day at Ohio Village
Are you looking for a day of family fun celebrating Independence Day? On Sunday, July 1st spend the day at the Independence Day celebration at Ohio Village! This event will be set in a re-created 19th-century village and feature old-fashioned family activities. The event will also feature a Grand Procession, patriotic speeches, a concert by the Ohio Village Singers, Muffins baseball, a pie eating content and a community dance.
Red, White & Boom
On Tuesday, July 3rd, bring your family to Red White & Boom in downtown Columbus! From noon until 8:00 PM, there will be a Children’s Park on the corner of Neil Avenue. This park will include inflatables, a bounce house, obstacles, a slide and much more. At 5:30 PM, the 2018 Ford Oval of Honor Red, White & BOOM parade will commence! The parade will start at the Main St. Bridge, turn north on Front St. and end at the corner of Front St. and Spring St. At 10:00 PM, there will be a firework show at the east bank of Genoa Park.
The 35th Annual Doo Dah Parade
If you’re looking for something fun to do on Independence Day, attend the 35th Annual Doo Dah Parade! The Annual Doo Dah celebrates freedom of speech through humor. The parade will kick off at 1:00 pm on the 4th of July in the Short North Arts District. The parade will last about two hours. Can’t make the parade? From 10:00 am to 7:00 pm there will be a free block party with live music!
